The Ideal Candidate will have;
Associate's degree in Agricultural, Horticulture, Plant Sciences or related curriculum, and two years of practical work experience in a Greenhouse /Nursery environment.
A comprehensive understanding of plant propagation including a practical application history of budding and grafting Deciduous and Citrus and Sub-Tropical Fruit Trees and Vines.
Knowledge of greenhouse operation and management.
Ability to operate, maintain and perform basic repairs to Greenhouse/Nursery machinery and equipment.
Arizona Private or Commercial Pesticide Applicator Permit required within 12 months from position start date.
Strong Communication skills, preferably in both Spanish and English.
Strong organizational Skills.
General Duties/Job Requirements are, but are not limited to;
Constant monitoring of crops; including pest and disease control.
Plant Nutrition, effective use of greenhouse space, and maintenance of irrigation and climate control systems.
Scheduling of Integrated Crop Management (ICM) and Integrated Pest Management (IPM).
Self-motivation.
Collection and Maintenance of scion and propagative materials.
Sufficient strength and physical dexterity to perform duties and responsibilities of this job, including heavy lifting.
Plant Inventory Management of all inventories by pruning, re-potting container stock.
Blending container mixes to insure correct soils PH and C&N ratios.
